All You Ever Wanted to Know About Insurance

Being Smart About Auto Insurance

When you are shopping for car insurance you should be sure that you know how to understand the terminology that is used while you are shopping.  Take a few minutes to read through these terms to be sure you know what you are singing up for.

  1. Bodily injury liability- This form of liability will ensure that you are covered in the case of injury or death.  It will also cover the legal costs if your car should injure or kill another individual.
  2. Property damage liability- This form of liability will ensure that you are covered for the property that your car damaged in an accident. This is the form of liability that is required to be able to legally drive in the majority of the states in the U.S.
  3. Uninsured motorist protection- This will ensure that the injuries that are caused to you or anyone in your car by an uninsured or a hit-and-run driver will be covered.  This may also extend to any damages that are experienced at the hand of an “under-insured” driver.
  4. Comprehensive-This will ensure that your car is covered in the majority of situations in which it is damaged or stolen.  Your car will be covered when your car is stolen, vandalized, damaged by fire, wind or water. More than likely, you will have to determine your deductible with your insurance company.

Understanding the lingo may help you be more confident as you are searching for the car insurance that is right for you.
